Hi Folks,

It’s the dog days of August. Wow, is summer flying by.

 A quick reminder that we will be closed from August 16 to August 29 2022. We will be open again August 30 at 10:00 am. Feel free to leave a message, as Phil will be in a few days to do winery work. He will take care of you.

We are planning 3 different tastings this Fall. Passport, LE and Restricted Quantities will all have a tasting with food pairings and live music. We had such a great time last year, we would be remiss to not kick that can again. Stay tuned for dates.

I would like you all to know how much we value your patronage. The last couple years have been tough for all of us, and it has been your support and good humour that has sustained us in this challenging time. Our promise to you, is continue bringing the best wine we can make to your glass. I am grateful. Thank you.

We are under tremendous price pressures right now, due to Covid, climate change, gas prices, war and supplier shortages. Glass has gone up 40%. Wine has gone up twice this year. Some products are no longer available to us. We will just have to weather the storm and see what happens. I am afraid the manufacturers have chosen to no longer include labels in their wine kits. We can discuss options when you bottle your wine.

Happy Canada Day Folks!!

I hope the summer weather is letting you enjoy a little time outside and recharge those Covid drained batteries.

We will be closed on Friday July 1st to appreciate what this wonderful country has done for us. We will be open again Saturday from 10am-2pm. Also, a note to remind everyone that I will be closing the store from Aug 16 – 29th2022 . Phil will be here a few days each week doing production work, if you have any questions.

In the next couple weeks I will have information about the upcoming Limited Releases, Passport Series and Restricted Quantity wines that will be on offer this coming fall for pre-order. My plan is to offer 3 different tasting events, each highlighting a particular series. We had such fun last year, and the things I am planning this year should be just as entertaining and informative. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy a little wine with tasty and complimentary food pairings?

Special Release Wines:

Winexpert Private Reserve -Bruno – $215.00/ batch

Though it now refers to the style of wine, locals originally called the Sangiovese grape ‘Brunello’ which roughly translates to ‘little dark one’; it is derived from the Italian word for brown – bruno.

Brunello is one of Italy’s – and the world’s – most revered red wines. When you look at icons of art and culture through history and present day, some of the greatest are often known by a single name. And so Bruno, the root of the Brunello moniker and a proper name itself, seemed a fitting name for this singular sensation.

This medium bodied white wine boasts a fruity palate of orchard fruit flavours, vibrant grapefruit and lime, complemented with subtle floral undertones. Fresh and zesty.

Summer time, summer time….

We made it to the hot and humid weather. Wouldn’t a cold glass of something hit the spot?

A couple of exciting offerings are coming our way this summer. We are pleased to be a retailer for DIY Cheesemaking Kits. Mozzarella, Ricotta, Cheddar, Goat and Feta cheese are all easy to master at home with a Cheesemaker Kit. All you add is the milk and follow the easy instructions to create your own cheese at home. Come August, the special edition 4-week Niagara Cabernet Franc is arriving. Only $160.00/ batch. Let me know if you would like one as supplies are limited.
